Swinside Lodge Hotel is a small luxury hotel with seven rooms, personally run by owners Mike and Kath Bilton. Set in the heart of the beautiful English Lake District at the foot of the mountains and yet within easy access to Keswick, the hotel is a haven of peace and tranquillity. Wildlife, including red squirrels, can be seen in the gardens. Four course dinner is served each evening, complemented by an extensive wine list, earning the hotel a prestigious two AA Rosettes. Other recent awards are Lakeland hotel of the Year: Good Hotel Guide, and Small Hotel of the Year: Cumbria Tourism. All rooms are ensuite, individually designed and maintained to a high standard. Swinside Lodge is ideal for walkers, with many breathtaking walks starting from the door. Thorns Hall is a small manor house dating from 1535, its public rooms retain their period charm, with wooden paneling. It is located on the outskirts of the small market town of Sedbergh. This quiet town lies on the north-west corner of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and at the foot of the Howgill Fells. All accommodation is in tastefully furnished rooms either within the hall or in converted outbuildings across the cobbled courtyard.The hotel is ideally suited to guests on activity holidays especially walking.Dining is communal with evening meals available at 7.00pm.
